A business when improving from small to medium or to large demands increased in material, man power and financial resources. Among the above mentioned, human resource plays a vital role in business as it controls the technology. A group of technologies combined to form social computing which is new evolution of the web. Social computing plays immense role in the business world which has the capability to impact the society technologic ally and economically. The computer systems are no less efficient than the human body. Autonomic computing is defined as the discipline which intends to learn from the bodily operating system. The computer technology is equally efficient and complicated as well as fragile as the human body and is compared to the autonomic nervous system in the humans which controls the involuntary human physiological activities. This concept of autonomic computing originated in the year 2001 from IBM (Cooter and Max, 2010). Stockinger(2006), in his short study on grid computing system revealed, it plays a key role in solving scientific, technical or business problems which might demand multiple computer processing cycles while working on large amount of data. Grid Computing is a unified pattern of computer resources from multiple administrative domains aiming for a common goal. Supporting Stockinger(2006), Liang-Jie et al (2004) mentioned the underused capacity of the computers has been taken utilis ed in grid computing technology to solve business problems and they indirectly provide additional support to the IT-level infrastructure to support business applications. By using grid computing technology the vendor has complete control and depending on his/her requirement he can upgrade and maintains the application. Hence it is very well understood, grid computing system supports the business big time. Benefits and Risks of Open Source Software Compared to Traditional COTS: The instant release rate of OSS assigns attaches and fixes quickly, possibly an order of magnitude quicker than those of commercial applications. Open Source applications is approximately easy to fix it because it frequently incorporates aspects such as central administration and distinct management. Because the access code is publicly available, Program Managers can have the access confirmed to meet their specific needs and tightly authority system resources. Moreover, Program Managers can re-use code written by others for familiar operations or ambitions. Qualitative data consists of either open-ended information in which research can be obtained from interviews, case studies, observational, narrative, grounded theory, and/or ethnography, and or phenomenological perspectives. Quantitative data involves finding and showing the relationship between variables. The suggested qualitative component involves a phenomenological data. Business Law in Accounting Free Essays
Accounting is the system of recording, reporting and verifying financial information for individuals and businesses, including income, expenses, value of assets, and so on. However, Business Law I, takes what is normally known of accounting and moves into another arena, one which includes civil and criminal liabilities, contract law, ethics and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002. By establishing the basics in Business Law, accountants are able to understand the risks of their particular profession. We will write a custom essay sample on Business Law in Accounting or any similar topic only for you Order Now Accountants are faced with civil and criminal liabilities which are based on the accountantââ¬â¢s ability to do his or her job effectively and legally. Accountants face civil liabilities when they do not complete the work satisfactorially to what was agreed to. Even ââ¬Å"Codes of Ethicsâ⬠urge accountants to not agree to do work that they know they do not have the knowledge or time to complete. Competency is a key element to being a successful accountant, and not meeting competency goals can cause problems for young accountants entering the field. By understanding the basics of contract law, it is easier for accountants to find the necessary information to allow them to do their jobs competently. If accountants know that it takes mutual consideration, or a ââ¬Å"meeting of the minds,â⬠to begin contract negotiations, then they can figure if they are reviewing a contract, some type of mutual consideration must have occurred, as well as a proposal and acceptance portion of the conversation. Also, if an accountant knows that the contract is for the sale of goods, then the accountant would know that the UCC Article 2 has to be used, instead of simple contract law. Knowing this would help the accountant understand how the asset or products purchased needed to be accounted for, because without detailed information in the contract, UCC Article I gap filling procedures take place. These procedures are an attempt to take vagueness and give it some detail, but the gap filling detail is not much better than the original, thus the accountant can still be stuck, lost, not knowing how to account for a particular product, and not knowing at which time responsibility and risk for the product exchanges hands. The Sarbanes-Oxley Act was signed into law in 2002 by George W. Bush. The original thought behind SOX was to regulate the accounting profession, due to the greed that had resulted in huge economic crashes amongst top corporations such as Enron and WorldCom. SOX assisted in setting up regulatory organizations for each facet of the accounting process. These organizations are designed to ensure that accounting practices and auditing practices are ethical, legal and professional for public U. S. companies. Unfortunately, SOX does not regulate private companies, but private companies cannot create financial hardships for outside investors, so private companies are not in need of these type of regulations. Business Law I helped create an understanding amongst the students regarding what is actually expected of them once work as an accountant begins. A naive accountant would believe that all he or she needed to do was ensure that the data being entered in is correct and if not, fix it through a series of journal entries. However, after taking this class, it is apparent that this is an incorrect assumption. Understanding the civil and criminal liabilities that can be charged due to negligence or fraud, whether intentional or not, is incredibly important to accountants and CPAââ¬â¢s. Without understanding these potential problems, an accountant would not be able to understand the level of the problem, or be able to assess the gravity of the situation, whatever that situation may be. Even though accounting is a financial profession that takes the value of income, expenses, assets, and other items, and reports, analyzes, records and verifies these amounts, Business Law allows for the review of the profession in general. Accountants have to understand what is legally expected of them when working with clientââ¬â¢s records and reports, and how these legal expectations can be brought upon them, and what their rights are. Without understanding the responsibility and risk that takes place for a company, an accountant would not understand why it is so important to establish ownership and when that particular ownership exchanges hands. Accountants also must understand what risks and responsibilities their particular profession run as well, and ensure that they are competently performing their jobs so that there is no question as to if an accountant was negligent, or was derilect in the performance of his or her duty. Lessons for Managing Creative Staff
Question: Discuss about the Lessons for Managing Creative Staff. Answer: Introduction: By the number of guests, it seems that Boleros is a famous restaurant but like it is said every day is not the same. By reading the case study, it is clear that the manager was not able to estimate the workload that the staff may have to face that day. The manager should have divided the work load between the staff as the call of the guest came that they are going to be late because that would have reduced the work pressure the staffs were facing. The manager allowed the guest to sit outside but did not ask any waiter to serve them that is why they were not even served water or even menu. The manager had one and a half hour in hand to set the duties for the staff which he did not do (E.Abel Obeten, 2015). He should have divided the work by asking few of them to just to take the order; one member should be given the duty to serve menu and water at every table so that they feel welcomed. The couple of guests who came early should have been delegated early so that must have reduced the work load of the staff. If the manager would have informed the kitchen staff about the late guests then they would have been prepared for the work load and must have started the basic preparation. Here also the work should have been divided by giving duties of entree, main course, and dessert in the kitchen staff. If Manager would have estimated the work load earlier than he would have delegated the duties to staff and saved everyone including the guest from the problems and delay they faced (Glick, 2010). The main problem that arisen at Boleros was the unplanned afternoon of Fathers Day with the guest more than the staff could handle. If I would have been there as the manager then, I would have divided the work load between the present staff. Also, I would have asked my guest to please wait and cooperate with the staff as they were late and now the restaurant is full which is making the delay in the services. The short term remedy for the situation would have been to hire the extra staff (Jellison, 2007). There were two reasons to do so, first, the manager missed that it was the Fathers Day which means extra guest than usual and secondly, he was having time when he came to know that there would be more guest than the staff could handle. On the long-term basis, it is important that the restaurant manager should keep some people on contract basis those who can come and work in the restaurant on special days like in this case study was Fathers Day. A notice should be written on the menu which says that any special voucher should be presented by the guest before ordering the meal to avoid confusion. The staff should be aware of the duties they are supposed to complete, and the responsibilities are getting handled well or not need to be checked by the manager on the regular basis. If the measures are properly followed then, this kind of situation will not arise again in the restaurant (Vanitha, 2012). References E.Abel, E. Obeten, E. (2015). Art Of Egypt Essay Egyptian Art was once considered to be unchanged, when viewing this art as a whole. Egyptian Art seems to have much repetition in pattern of images and ideas, yet all of these images are uniquely different. Ranging from 3000b.c to 50b.c. it takes the same principles through out the entire period. Consisting of Old, Middle and New Kingdoms, each dynasty had a different addition to the basic concepts that were established in the beginning, ideas of the artist grew faster and better. Many cultures shared from the influence of Egyptian Art. Even if it was not copied, their artwork was either compared or contrasted with that of the Greeks, Romans, Sumerians, Assyrians and Persians. All in one way or another form have come in contact with Egyptian Art. Art is different variations of expression, either self-expression or cultural, from painting, sculpture, architecture, to funeral preparations to pottery. Art is also a form of communication that conveys ideas, theories, or even history and expresses ideas that cannot be put into words. Thus taking something that is thought to be intangible, shaping and molding it into something that can be seen or touched. Different cultures share ideas and styles and use them to fit in their own views and principles. Sometimes the artwork can be viewed differently between two cultures. Yet they can have the same purpose, for example, the comparison of Mycenaean tombs and the tombs of the New and Middle Egyptian Kingdom. The tombs were made in two separate time periods; the views of the after life are different. Although need for the preparation of the dead for after life is similar to each other, showing how the Egyptians had an influence on many cultures. Tombs are placing for the dead. In most cultures of the Ancient world, there were tombs. Tombs were erected and built usually for the highest official in the time period. In Egypt tombs were made, there were different types. The most famous are the pyramids. These triangular buildings were made for pharaohs. Mostly built by slave labor, with such precision, it is only speculated on how they were made. Tombs were a reflection of the deceaseds life. They were made to reflect all the things that the person had done in order to make it in the afterlife. So these tombs were decorated with everything that would be needed for the after life. The coffin that was used for the body can be seen today in modern times. In American culture when a person dies they are put into a coffin, sometimes it reflects the person. Coffins were elaborate parts of burial procedures in Egypt. Also in modern days, statues are erected for the deceased in memory of the person or their act. Egyptian Art is linked to Greek art. The columns that the Greeks are known for, were inspired from Egyptians, many of the building that are built in present time have origins linked to Greek Art. The Artwork of the Egyptians laid down basic steps to writing. The introduction of hieroglyphics uses symbols to represent thing, this is the basis of written word. After many years of influence and refinement different languages were formed from this basic writ. In modern day art, Egyptian style can still be traced and linked. The way that humans were represented in both profile and canon; the details of the body, the parts of the body, the differences between man and woman, gods and humans, Egyptian art is known for its representation of the many styles. Many things that we use today have come from the Egyptians, for instance, the chests people use for storage. .ua55ce6d3e8d831f3ac23a71458ae2cda , .ua55ce6d3e8d831f3ac23a71458ae2cda .postImageUrl , .ua55ce6d3e8d831f3ac23a71458ae2cda .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .ua55ce6d3e8d831f3ac23a71458ae2cda , .ua55ce6d3e8d831f3ac23a71458ae2cda:hover , .ua55ce6d3e8d831f3ac23a71458ae2cda:visited , .ua55ce6d3e8d831f3ac23a71458ae2cda:active { border:0!important; } .ua55ce6d3e8d831f3ac23a71458ae2cda .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .ua55ce6d3e8d831f3ac23a71458ae2cda { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .ua55ce6d3e8d831f3ac23a71458ae2cda:active , .ua55ce6d3e8d831f3ac23a71458ae2cda:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .ua55ce6d3e8d831f3ac23a71458ae2cda .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .ua55ce6d3e8d831f3ac23a71458ae2cda .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .ua55ce6d3e8d831f3ac23a71458ae2cda .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .ua55ce6d3e8d831f3ac23a71458ae2cda .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .ua55ce6d3e8d831f3ac23a71458ae2cda:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .ua55ce6d3e8d831f3ac23a71458ae2cda .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .ua55ce6d3e8d831f3ac23a71458ae2cda .ua55ce6d3e8d831f3ac23a71458ae2cda-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .ua55ce6d3e8d831f3ac23a71458ae2cda:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Research in the field of embryology and genetics h EssayUsually all families have one or more, the Egyptians created this between 1500bc and 1200bc. The chests originally were the hollow dug outs of tress, with iron in place in the so they would not break and when used for storage. The designs of these chests had meaning. The way in which something was carved into the chest would tell what it function was. The storage of food and clothing are two examples of what the chest was used for. In addition to hieroglyphics, which were mostly done on walls, the Egyptians started to use paper. Papyrus was used to document most all important events and history of Egypt. Most papyrus documents have been found in Egypt, where the papyrus plant was cultivated for the manufacture of writing material and the dry climate favored preservation. Papyrus documents have been found dating from as early as about 2600b.c.
